Hand your customers clear care instructions and cut down on complaints: daily cleaning, stains, heat and the chemicals that damage quartz.

Full slab of Auro Quartz Calacatta 6606 white quartz

In one paragraph

Engineered quartz is non-porous and does not need sealing. Daily cleaning needs only warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth. The two things that damage quartz are direct high heat, which can mark the resin, and strong chemicals such as bleach, oven cleaner and paint stripper.

Four habits that keep quartz looking new

  1. 01

    Wipe spills soon

Wipe spills with warm water and mild soap before they dry.

  2. 02

    Use a trivet

Put hot pans and appliances on a trivet, not directly on the quartz.

  3. 03

    Use a cutting board

Cut on a board; knives can mark the surface and dull quickly.

  4. 04

    Skip harsh cleaners

Avoid bleach, oven cleaner, paint stripper and abrasive pads.

Common problems and how to handle them

Dried spills and grease

Soften with warm soapy water, then lift with a plastic scraper; finish with a damp cloth.

Water marks and limescale

Use a cleaner labelled safe for quartz; avoid acidic or abrasive products left on the surface.

Ink, dye and marker

Treat quickly with a cleaner labelled safe for quartz; strong dyes left for a long time can mark a light surface.

Heat marks

Heat marks in the resin cannot be cleaned away; prevention with trivets is the only fix.

Veined colours hide daily marks better than plain ones

Busy veins and mid-tone bases hide crumbs, water marks and fingerprints better than plain white or polished black. Show customers who worry about upkeep the veined colours.
